The NBN Is Here! - A Preliminary Review

 

The NBN is here!

The NBN is finally here in Willunga, South Australia. What is the NBN? NBN (National Broadband Network) is a new, wholesale-only, open access high-speed broadband network that will deliver high-speed broadband to all Australians. The NBN will involve the laying of fibre optic cabling to 93 per cent of Australian homes, schools and businesses, providing broadband speeds of up to 100 megabits per second (Mbps). The remaining premises will be connected via a combination of next-generation high-speed fixed wireless and satellite technologies delivering peak speeds of at least 12 Mbps or more.

NBN - Trial starts week of June 27th

The NBN trial starts the week of the June 27th here in Willunga, South Australia and I am excited about it. I will be bringing you a full review of the NBN as soon as I have had a chance to test things out and will include screenshots and what speeds are being delivered. I will be getting 100Mbit downstream and 40Mbit upstream. So will be interesting to see whether I get anywhere close to those speeds on the local mirror. Read more

NBN Video and what High Speed Broadband can do

Here is an interesting video put out by the Australian Government about the NBN (National Broadband Network) and what Fiber can do for the future. I for one am glad to soon be part of the NBN. The future is here!
